I rarely make reviews on Yelp but with my experience at Trotters it would only be right. My husband and I visited this wonderful restaurant on Memorial Day weekend. We are from Greenwood and we’re not interested in eating at any particular restaurant Greenwood had to offer that weekend. I started looking on Yelp for close by restaurants outside on our hometown and found Trotters. I am so glad we did. It is a small reserved restaurant that is decorated so cute and tidy. We were welcomed immediately by the owner who provided us with a booster for our newborn’s car seat. “Willie” our waiter was awesome and gave us a old school favorite uncle vibe. He is hands down the BEST waiter me and my husband have encountered. The food! Let me start by saying my husband is the definition of a “picky eater”. When my husband took a bite of his food and made his satisfaction grunt I knew we had found a great eating spot. We enjoy our meal and experience overall and most definitely will be back. Next time with our 2 year old who will likely clean their buffet out with his favorites (Mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, and chicken). Thank you Trotters for a wonderful experience. Can’t wait to return.

Went on a Sunday around 1pm plenty of seating. 2 different big rooms with 2 buffet bars. Same food on both. Great service! Good sweet tea! Drinks were $1.00. Salad bar $8. Salad and food $11.00. My young girls just ate macaroni so they charged $5 each for them.
They had several selections of chicken… Breasts, legs, wings, and grilled. They had ham, corn, green beans, macaroni and cheese, potatoes and gravy,
Squash casserole, collard greens, deviled eggs, cornbread, and rolls.  Desert bar had banana pudding, pumpkin pie, strawberry/jello, pound cake, chocolate cake, and others… Waitress said the pies are homemade my uncle said the pumpkin pie was the best he ever had.

Soul food buffet! The food was good, fresh and hot and the dining area was very neat and clean. Good comfort food. My husband  and I passed this place while traveling to Lauren’s and decided to give it a try. The food is wonderful and the value is fantastic.

We went during a slow time which isn’t the best time to go to a buffet, but the food did not disappoint.  Everything was fresh.  The dining room was clean, and the hostess was courteous.  The drink situation was a little weird to figure out, as the fountain was right near and to the side of the buffet yet if body language was any indication you weren’t supposed to refill your own drinks.  A word of advice would be to move the drink machine or post something on it, because it kind of seems like you don’t mind people getting their own drinks.  Also, there could have been a bigger selection, but overall, for $10 all you can eat, drink, and dessert, not bad.  This is a soul food place, not a meat and three, and the difference is in the clientele.  I’m pretty sure I’m the whitest person ever to visit this place, and I’ll be back if I’m ever in the area.

Buffet is full of delicious comfort food, cooked up perfect, not greasy, not over spiced…. really really good eats at a reasonable price.  You are going to want to eat here, your going to want to come back.   Banana pudding is creamy, your going to want more so scoop big.  There is a hidden corner with cakes and pies if you have room, your going to leave stuffed.  The turkey and dressing was better than some Thanksgiving meals I have had.  Great food!!
